Why a whole date
A Medjool date is fruit. We left it that way.
A Medjool date arrives with fiber, minerals and vitamins already in it. We keep the fruit whole for its texture. We pit the whole fruit by hand and stuff it, so what the date came with stays in. The only sugar we add is about 2 grams a date. That comes from the chocolate.

Robbie Madfis started pitting California Medjool dates in his own kitchen in 2017, stuffing them with spiced sunflower butter and dipping them in dark chocolate. Friends asked for more. Then strangers. Then retailers.
Every pouch is still stuffed and dipped by hand, in small batches, in Rhode Island.
