What it is

Whole California Medjool dates, hand-stuffed with sunflower butter, dipped in single-origin 75% dark chocolate and finished with sea salt. No date paste. No palm oil. No sugar substitutes. Two flavors: Hot Dates, with single-origin spices from Burlap & Barrel, and Coffee Dates, with organic Fair-Trade espresso from Dean's Beans.

Why it earns its shelf space

It clears almost every dietary gate. Vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, non-GMO and kosher, with about 2g of added sugar. One SKU answers a lot of customer questions. It does contain soy from the chocolate, and our kitchen handles nuts, which we state plainly rather than bury.

It does not need a fridge. Pouches ship and sit at room temperature. Chilling keeps the chocolate firm in warm weather, but nothing about this product requires cold storage.

The format works anywhere. Each pouch holds 3 whole stuffed dates, which sells at a register, in a grab-and-go case, or built into a gift set.

It carries a point of view. Certified Carbon Neutral, and 10% of profits go to causes reducing global poverty and mitigating climate change.
